Privacy Policy

CloudEx Inc. ("we", "us") provides the app "Document Viewer Pro" (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Our approach

Document Viewer Pro is an app for viewing documents such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and text files. Loading, displaying, searching, converting to PDF, reading aloud and text recognition all happen on your device. We never send the contents of your documents, their file names or the list of documents on your device to us or to any third party. There is no account to create and no sign-in.

2. Information we handle

2.1 Information sent automatically

  • Crash reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics. When the App crashes, the place where the error occurred (stack trace), device model, OS version and app version are sent. These never include document contents or file names.
  • Usage statistics: We use Google Analytics for Firebase. Anonymous app usage events (such as the first launch) are sent together with device information and the device's advertising ID (AAID). We use them to understand how the App is used overall and to measure our own advertising campaigns (counting installs that come from our ads). They never include document contents or file names.
  • Purchase information: To confirm a Premium purchase (a one-time in-app purchase), we use the purchase token issued by Google Play. Payment details such as card numbers are handled by Google and never reach us.

2.2 Information stored only on your device

  • Recent documents, favorites, bookmarks, reading positions, signature images and app settings are stored only on your device. They are deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data.
  • Files the App creates (for example, documents converted to PDF) are saved to the "Documents/Document Viewer Pro" folder on your device ("Pictures/Document Viewer Pro" for images) and remain after the App is uninstalled.
  • Passwords you enter to open protected documents are never stored.

2.3 Information we do not collect

  • The contents of your documents, their file names, or the list of documents on your device
  • Passwords used to open documents
  • Location
  • Phone number, contacts, calendar or microphone

2.4 Permissions the App requests and why

  • All files access (optional) — Used to list the documents on your device (such as downloaded attachments) by type and to include them in full-text search. It is enabled only when you allow it. Without it, you can still open documents with "Open with" from other apps or "Open from device".
  • Read storage (Android 10 and earlier) — Used for the same purpose as above.
  • Notifications (optional) — Used to let you know when a task such as a PDF conversion has finished.
  • Internet — Used for in-app purchases, fetching the list of our other apps, and sending the crash reports and usage statistics described above. It is not used to view documents (even if a document contains external images or links, the App does not load them).

2.5 Document scanning, text recognition and read aloud

  • Document scanning and text recognition (OCR) use ML Kit from Google Play services. Processing happens on your device, and we never receive the images you capture or the text that is recognized. The first time you use text recognition, recognition data may be downloaded by Google Play services.
  • Read aloud uses the text-to-speech engine set on your device. How that engine works is governed by the policy of its provider.

3. How we use information

We use the limited information we handle only to:

  • Provide and maintain the App
  • Confirm purchases
  • Understand and improve how the App is used overall
  • Measure our own advertising campaigns (install counts)
  • Diagnose and fix crashes
  • Respond to your inquiries
  • Comply with applicable laws

4. Third-party services

Document Viewer Pro uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — crash diagnostics
  • Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) — usage statistics and measuring our advertising campaigns
  • Google Play Billing (Google LLC) — Premium purchases; payment is completed within Google Play
  • ML Kit (Google LLC) — on-device document scanning and text recognition
  • Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) — the server that delivers the list of our other apps

We do not provide or sell your data to advertising networks or data brokers.

5. Our other apps

The App has a section that introduces our other apps. The list is fetched from the internet, but no document contents or file names are sent when it is fetched. Tapping an app opens its Google Play page.

6. Data retention

  • Crash reports: deleted after 90 days.
  • Usage statistics: kept in Google Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted.
  • Support emails: deleted 12 months after the last exchange, unless the law requires otherwise.
  • Information stored on your device: deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data.

7. International data transfers

We are based in Japan. The infrastructure used for crash diagnostics and usage statistics may be located in other countries. When you use the App, the limited information described above may be processed outside your country of residence under standard contractual safeguards.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, the UK, California or Japan), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited information we hold. You can:

  • Reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads)
  • Delete the information stored on your device by uninstalling the App or clearing its data
  • Send us a request about the information we hold, using the contact below

9. Children's privacy

Document Viewer Pro is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age that applies where you live). If we learn that we have received information from such a child by mistake, we will delete it promptly after being contacted.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when needed. The latest version, with its effective date, is always published on this page. Where appropriate, we will also announce important changes in the App.
